grief work is a soul’s work!

description

many of us don’t have access to grieve for a loss and many of us are scared to grieve in anticipation of falling apart. grief and joy gathering is an invitation to be held in accompaniment of others and slowly cultivating joy. Following the wisdom of the book, The Wild Edge of Sorrow, by Francis Weller and the s.l.o.w. presence framework, This nine-month-long gathering of transformative learning experiences offers a sacred container, a gathering for grief and joy.

sorrow lingers but a slow presence to it may bring joy!

the following list (but not limited to) of losses may bring a deep longing for grief and may act like mini deaths:

  • loss of one’s beloved to death

  • loss of identity/ loss of ability/a beloved pet

  • loss of home, time, and

  • even life transitions such as age,

  • being a new mother, not being able to be a parent, menopause,

  • moving to a different job, a promotion, losing a job,

  • divorce, separation

Even though we may not carve a grieving space outwardly, our body longs for it, and stores this longing as an implicit memory. This implicit memory ends up being the cause of suffering.
